CTC Services

Laundry

Laundry services are provided to all course cadets once every week at no cost to the course cadet. Staff cadets will have self serve laundry machines provided at no cost, but the staff cadets are to provide their own detergent and dryer sheets, which can be purchased at the canteen.

Irons and ironing boards are available for use.

Canteen

The canteen provides a social atmosphere where you can relax after a long day of training. Snacks and beverages are available for purchase. Depending on availability, you may also purchase toiletries, polish, souvenirs, etc. Prices are modest and any proceeds are put back into the CTC to benefit the cadets.

Accommodations

Cadet accommodations are multi-occupant and access restricted. Sleeping equipment consists two-tier bunk beds. All bedding (sheets, blankets, pillows) is provided. There is a linen exchange weekly, where all personnel can exchange used linens for freshly cleaned linen. Cadets are provided with a footlocker, and a metal school locker that provide security for cadets’ personal belongings. Cadets are expected to bring their own padlocks.

Visitor Access

Access to Whitehorse CTC is restricted to authorized personnel only. Visitors will be required to pre-arrange pick-up and produce Government-issued photo identification at the Headquarters Building upon arrival at the training centre.

Clothing

Cadets should anticipate colder weather and bring additional warm clothing to wear.

Medical

Cadets who become ill or injured during authorized CCO Activities (Cadet Activity) are eligible for certain health and dental care entitlements, further information can be found here: Medical Care for Cadets and Junior Canadian Rangers.
