Looking for a summer job? Explore the possibilities as a Staff Cadet

You’re eligible if you meet these 4 criteria:

  • Be 16 years old before the first day of employment and not be 19 before the last day of employment.
  • Have completed your Phase 3/Silver Star/Level 3 by end of training year 2025-2026.
  • Be a minimum rank of Petty Officer 2nd Class/Sergeant.
  • Have a social insurance number and a personal bank account in your name.

How to apply?

  • Each region has its own processes for Staff Cadet applications. Please talk with your corps / squadron adult staff about your interest and they will guide you through the process.
  • Provide your corps / squadron staff with your choices and inform them if you have any special qualifications (e.g. lifeguard).
  • If you are selected, you will be notified by your corps / squadron staff.
  • Review the job offer and confirm your availability dates.

What opportunities are available?

This year there are three different types of opportunities:


Cadet Training Centre (CTC)

With 24 courses at 13 different CTCs, there are a wide variety of staff cadet positions available.

The three main categories are:

  • Training (Division / Platoon / Flight Staff)
  • Support (Operations, Administration, Supply, Cadet Correspondent, Canteen, and other various CTC support roles)
  • Senior Cadet Leaders (CPO1 / CWO / WO1 or CPO2 / MWO / WO2 positions)

Cadet Correspondent Employment 

Are you interested in sharing the best parts of the Cadet Program and life at the Cadet Training Centre (CTC)? Do you love creating trendy and fun digital content for social media? Would you like to help highlight the amazing things your fellow cadets are doing?

We invite you to apply to work as a cadet correspondent at a CTC this summer. You’ll receive training on creating engaging stories and media content that showcase the incredible experiences of cadets across Canada.

Whether you're snapping photos, creating videos, or crafting the perfect post, this role offers a chance to sharpen your media skills and be the voice of the Cadet Program. Don't worry if you're new to public affairs – we'll provide all the training and support you need.

Step into the spotlight and make your mark this summer as a CTC Cadet Correspondent! Applications are completed through your corps/squadron staff on Fortress. You will also need to submit supporting documentation (sample photos, cover letter and resume, a sample social media post, and a creative writing piece) using our submission form on Cadet365 (You are now leaving Canada.ca. Link accessible only on Cadet365) by 16 January 2026.


Digital Internship

Exciting Staff Cadet Digital Internship Alert for This Summer!

Are you ready to level up your digital game and have an epic summer experience? We've got super cool positions open for Digital Internship Staff Cadets at various CTCs – and guess what? You could be one of the lucky ones!

What's up for grabs?

  1. Assistant IT Coordinators: Dive into the tech world at 13 different CTCs! You'll be the righthand person to the ITC Officer, helping sort out tech troubles, setting up IT gear from scratch, and making sure everything's running smoothly. It's all about getting hands on and making tech magic happen!
  2. IT SMC Applications Support team / Digital accelerator team: Assist in the analysis, design, and development of small-scale digital applications. Work closely with team members to identify business needs, gather requirements, and help implement innovative solutions that drive digital transformation. Your role will involve hands-on experience with a low-code platform, while learning about emerging technologies and digital strategies to enhance efficiency and business processes.

Technology & Digital Learning Centre (TDLC)

eLearning Staff Positions Available

Are you ready to be at the forefront of instruction and support for multiple new courses? Join us as an eLearning staff cadet. Lead the way to an unforgettable virtual summer camp experience! If you're uncertain about leading online classes or the support roles, don't worry - we'll provide guidance and training during the staff cadet in-routine.

Staff Cadets require:

  • Laptop / computer (can be supplied)
  • Stable Internet connection
  • Webcam and microphone (can be supplied)
  • Active Cadet365 account
  • Be familiar with MS Teams
  • Cyber Awareness course completed

What a typical day will look like:

  • 3 hours of online instruction / facilitation
  • 5 hours of additional tasks to include:
    • class prep time
    • responding to course cadets that need assistance (asynchronous course content)

How much will you be paid?

  • You are paid for every day of your contract, including weekends and vacation.
  • E.g. a FSgt / WO / PO1 on a 7-week contract could receive approximately $5500 before taxes.
  • In accordance with CANCDTGEN 010/26, effective 1 June 2026, the staff cadet daily rate of pay will be as follows:
