Continuing support from a dedicated coordinator who can advocate for, accompany and assist affected people.

Community Consultations
Inviting members of the wider Defence community to provide their feedback on support services and resources available to them.

Peer Support
Trauma-informed, inclusive and accessible peer support services for affected people, in partnership with Veterans Affairs Canada.

Independent Legal Assistance
Direct access to appropriate resources for legal information, advice and representation at no cost to eligible affected people.

Restorative Engagement
Opportunities for members of the CAF-DND Sexual Misconduct and/or Systemic Racism Class Action Settlements to share their experience, impacts and insights with Defence representatives.

Grants
Funding projects led by community-based service providers across Canada with the capacity and expertise to provide support services to those affected by sexual misconduct.

Restorative Services
Opportunities for Defence team members to address harm and its impacts, strengthen relationships and prevent future harm.

The Military Liaison Team (MLT)
A resource offered through the DCSRC providing support to individuals and guidance to Chains of Command on policies, procedures, and available resources.

Book an Information Session

Our team offers information sessions on a variety of topics to raise awareness and facilitate access to our programs and services. We provide support services for Defence Community members affected by sexual misconduct and/or racism, as well as guidance on how to address these issues.

About the DCSRC
60 minutes - Minimum five participants, no maximum
Provides information on the programs and services available through the DCSRC. Participants will learn about our mandate, programs and services, what to expect when they call our 24/7 support line, and the support and resources available.

Trauma-Informed Approach
120-150 minutes — Minimum five participants, maximum 30
An interactive session that builds an understanding of trauma and how it may present, while exploring its impacts on behavior and interactions. Participants will gain practical strategies to support others, reduce the risk of retraumatization, and foster safer, more supportive environments.

Combined About the DCSRC and Trauma-Informed Approach
150-180 minutes — Minimum five participants, maximum 30
This session provides an overview of the DCSRC's programs and services while introducing a trauma-informed approach. Participants will gain an understanding of how trauma can impact behavior and interactions, along with practical strategies to support others and foster safer, more supportive environments.

The Military Liaison Team (MLT) works in close collaboration with the Defence Community Support and Resource Centre (DCSRC).

While the team belongs to Chief Professional Conduct and Culture (CPCC), the MLT is a key component of the DCSRC’s comprehensive approach to addressing misconduct in the CAF.

Military Liaison Team (MLT)

Who is the MLT and what is their role?

Military Liaison Officer (MLO)

  • Provides information, guidance, and options based on current policies within the CAF and DND.
  • Advises the DCSRC on CAF culture, trends, policies, and procedures.
  • Participates in outreach sessions to raise awareness of MLT services.
  • Provides guidance and support to Chains of Command in navigating disclosures.

Military Police Liaison Officer (MPLO)

  • Provides information on Military/civilian police procedures and jurisdictions, reporting options, and investigation procedures.
  • Can facilitate updates on ongoing investigations.
  • Is the DCSRC link to the Canadian Forces Military Police Group.
  • Does not investigate or provide legal advice.

Who can access MLT services?

Any individuals affected by misconduct including affected members, accused individuals, chains of command, or bystanders.

Individuals can connect with the MLT directly, anonymously, or through a third party within the DCSRC.

All information shared with the MLT is confidential.
