Military Personnel Generation Group Chief Warrant Officer
CWO Alain joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 1987 as part of the Primary at “Le Régiment de la Chaudière”. During her Reserve service, she participated in FALLEX 1989 (West Germany) and the Oka Crisis.
In 1991, after completing the Laboratory Technologist course at CEGEP Ste-Foy, she transferred to the Regular Force as a Medical Laboratory Technologist. Her career as a Lab Tech brought her to Canadian Forces Hospital Valcartier, CFB St-Hubert Medical Clinic, National Defence Medical Centre, Canadian Forces Health Services Centre (Atlantic and Ottawa) and 2 Field Ambulance.
She deployed three times to Bosnia-Herzegovina on Op CAVALIER in 1993, and on Op PALLADIUM, 1998, 2002. In 2006, she deployed with Task Force Afghanistan as part of Op ARCHER to stand up the medical laboratory capability with a Role 3 Multi-National team. In 2010, she deployed for a second tour to Afghanistan with Op ATHENA.
Promoted to the rank of Master Warrant Officer in 2012, she was posted to Canadian Forces Health Services Group Headquarters as the Medical Laboratory Technologist MOSID Advisor.
She was promoted to her current rank in 2016 and was appointed Training Centre CWO at Canadian Forces Health Services Training Center (Borden). In July 2019, she was appointed Royal Canadian Medical Services and Branch CWO and come back to Ottawa. In July 2021 she was appointed the RMC Kingston, College CWO. In 2024 she was appointed as the Formation CWO Military Personnel Generation Group.
CWO Alain has served on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science for 9 years.
She lives with her husband, they have two adult children and two grandsons.
