Conflict Solutions and Services (CSS)

Geneviève LordMs. Geneviève Lord has served as a Public Servant with the federal public sector since 1999, holding various positions in the field of Human Resources. She has provided leadership in areas such as Labour Relations, Disability Management, Harassment and Violence in the Workplace, Collective Bargaining, Occupational Health and Safety, Wellness and Pay Stabilization. Her management style is centered on mobilizing people, collaborating with partners, and seeking out and promoting innovation.

In 2019, she was appointed as the Director of Workplace Relations for the Parks Canada Agency. During her tenure, she led the transformation of the Prevention and Resolution of Harassment and Violence in the workplace in light of Bill C-65, created a new Disability Management Center of Expertise, negotiated the first ever Essential Services Agreement with the bargaining agent, was a key member of the Agency’s Collective Bargaining Team and led the negotiation and resolution of many very complex labour relations cases.

In 2018, Ms. Lord was appointed Adjunct Professor to the Canada School of the Public Service offering the “Labour Relations for Specialist” course for the next generation of public servants.

Prior to joining Parks Canada Agency, she was a recognized specialist in the field of Labour Relations working for various federal departments such as Natural Resources Canada, Shared Services Canada and Western Economic Diversification. She also worked as a Human Resources Generalist at CFB Edmonton before moving to Ottawa in 2007 to specialize in labour relations with the Director General Labour Relations and Compensation team in the Departmental of National Defence (DND).

Ms. Lord returned to DND in June 2022 as the Director General Conflict Solutions and Services (DGCSS) within the Chief Professional Conduct and Culture (CPCC) organization. Programs under her leadership include: The delivery of conflict solutions and services across Canada through the Conflict and Complaint Management Services (CCMS) centers, CAF Grievance Authority, Harassment Prevention and Resolution Programs (CAF and Defense Team), CAF Human Rights Complaints and several leadership support programs such as the Defense Team Coaching Program, Restorative Services, and the Leadership Support Team.

Ms. Lord holds a Bachelor of Arts with specializations in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Ottawa and an Executive Certificate in Conflict Resolution from the University of Windsor Law School.
