The Honourable Harjit Sajjan is pleased to announce that the Governor-in-Council has approved a two-year reappointment of the mandate of Rear-Admiral Geneviève Bernatchez, OMM, CD as the Judge Advocate General (JAG) for the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF).

• The JAG reports to and is responsible to the Minister in the performance of their duties and functions and acts as legal adviser to the Governor General, the Minister, the Department and the CAF in matters relating to military law, including military justice, operational and international law as well as administrative law. The JAG is also responsible for the superintendence of the administration of military justice in the CAF.
