What does this mean for Defence Team members?

Professional conduct scenarios present an opportunity to discuss and learn about the ethical principles and values that are the foundation of our organization’s culture. Through these scenarios, Defence Team members will explore how Defence ethics affect our collective conduct, practices, and mindsets.

The aim is to help clarify expected behaviours of Defence Team members, spark reflection, and enable respectful dialogue. Each scenario includes a brief description, a facilitator’s guide, and facilitation questions to guide a discussion.

The updated website directly supports the implementation of CPCC’s Culture Evolution Strategy by including scenarios related to cultural themes such as leadership, teamwork, identity, and service. The scenario-based learning also aligns with several recommendations from the Deputy Ministers’ Task Team on Values and Ethics Report to the Clerk of the Privy Council, which encourage dialogue, training, and internal communication on values and ethics within departments and agencies across the Government of Canada.

Future updates and support

As the functional authority on Defence values and ethics, CPCC will continue to update the website with new scenarios and features that reflect current societal and DND/CAF-specific dilemmas and challenges.

If there are scenarios you would like to see added or if you have questions about the content, please contact CPCC’s Training and Education Team at CPCCTraining-EntrainementCCPC@forces.gc.ca.
