Help us better understand and eliminate barriers to accessibility by filling out the Defence Team Accessibility Survey today

January 25, 2024 – Defence Stories

Take part in the Defence Team Accessibility Survey today!

The Department of National Defence and Canadian Armed Forces (DND/CAF) is conducting its first Defence Team Accessibility Survey, and we want to hear from you!

Accessibility is about ensuring everyone, whatever their abilities, can participate fully. The purpose of this survey is to better understand barriers faced by people with disabilities, and removing barriers concerns everyone. As such, it is not necessary to have self-identified as a person with a disability to respond to this survey.

Questions in the survey include topics surrounding:

  • Accommodations
  • Barriers to accessibility
  • Persons with disabilities networks within DND/CAF
  • Receiving necessary support and information

This survey is an important step in making certain the Defence Team continues to identify, better understand, and eliminate barriers to accessibility and inclusion. This is your opportunity to share your experiences and contribute to efforts to make our workplace more accessible to all.

The Defence Team Accessibility Office within Chief Professional Conduct and Culture (CPCC) is conducting the survey. Results will inform progress to date and will be reflected in future accessibility plans and efforts. If you would like to learn more about efforts and progress to date, read the Defence Team 2023 Accessibility Plan Progress Report.

Your privacy and confidentiality are important to us. The Defence Team Accessibility Office recognizes not everyone who may wish to participate in this survey has disclosed to their colleagues or managers if they are a person with a disability. Individual survey responses will be anonymized and made only available to the team doing the analysis. Individual responses will be compiled with others to expand on major themes and takeaways before being shared more broadly.
