Attend an information session on the Sexual Misconduct Support and Resource Centre’s Restorative Engagement program

The Sexual Misconduct Support and Resource Centre (SMSRC) is hosting information sessions for its Restorative Engagement (RE) program. If you are a member of the CAF-DND Sexual Misconduct Class Action Settlement and expressed interest in the RE program or a Defence Team member looking to get involved in the program as a Defence representative, these information sessions are for you.

The SMSRC’s RE program provides flexible options for class members to share aspects of their experience(s), impacts and insights for addressing sexual misconduct in the CAF-DND. It also provides an opportunity for Defence Team members to learn from what class members share and work together to find ways to address sexual misconduct. This program focuses on a restorative approach to contribute to a more respectful and inclusive culture.

Many class members who have shared their experience(s) and/or knowledge of sexual misconduct with Defence representatives have let the program know that they found the process meaningful. In addition, over 50 Defence representatives have participated in the program. Many have said their participation has provided them with important insights about institutional culture and how they can contribute to a change for the better.

View the list of available information sessions to attend on Microsoft Teams Live Event. Sessions are scheduled in the spring, but more dates will be added for summer and fall months.

If you have questions regarding these sessions or the program, we invite you to contact the RE program team by email at RE-DR@forces.gc.ca or by phone at 1-833-998-2048. All calls are automatically transferred to the SMSRC’s 24/7 line, where a counsellor can speak with you about the RE program.
