Launch of the Official Languages Newsletter

After several years of hiatus, the Director Official Languages (DOL) is launching the first edition of its revitalized Newsletter (accessible only on the National Defence network), which will be published on a quarterly basis starting March 1, 2023.

The newsletter is one of the many initiatives DOL has taken to promote a sustainable culture of linguistic respect and individual official languages (OL) rights within the Department of National Defence and the Canadian Armed Forces, in accordance with Canada's Official Languages Act (OLA), the Treasury Board OL Policy and Directives, and the DND/CAF Official Languages Strategy (accessible only on the National Defence network). 

Within the newsletter, you will find reference tools, recently published policies, a word from our OL champions and partners/collaborators, and you can even test your OL knowledge.

DOL hopes that this information channel will help raise the level of understanding of OL rights and responsibilities among the entire Defence Team and motivate everyone's commitment to respect the OLA, particularly through the sharing of best practices within our organization.
