Learn, engage and contribute to culture change through Restorative Engagement

Defence Team members are invited to submit their nomination to participate in the Restorative Engagement program as Defence representatives starting 22 August 2022.
What is the Restorative Engagement Program?
The Restorative Engagement program is available to claimants of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF)-Department of National Defence (DND) Sexual Misconduct Class Action Settlement and has been created in collaboration between the Sexual Misconduct Response Centre and Conflict and Complaint Management Services. Participation in the program is a way for Defence representatives from both the CAF and DND to better understand the dynamics and impacts of sexual misconduct and to contribute and become leaders of culture change within the institution.
What does participation look like?
As a Defence representative, you will have the opportunity to listen, acknowledge, understand, and learn from class member experiences of sexual misconduct. In a group (also called cohort) with other Defence representatives from different backgrounds, environments, roles, ranks and positions, you will learn and reflect, share ideas, and plan for positive institutional change. Your participation can be on a full-time basis for 3 months or on a part-time basis for 6 months. Additional information on your role as a Defence representatives (only available on the National Defence network) in the program is available online.
Submit your nomination
To participate as a Defence representative, you and your Commanding Officers if you a CAF members) or Directors (if you are a DND public service employees) must sign and submit the form d4792. Nomination forms must be submitted to DR-RD@forces.gc.ca on or before 22 July 2022 to participate starting in August. If you want to participate but are not available in August, please do send us your nomination and we will keep your name for future cohorts.
