Defence Team: Learn about pay and benefits at DND!

The new DND compensation learning series is available to the Defence Team to learn more about compensation, benefits and pay systems at DND. It includes 3 self-paced, online courses you can take when and wherever you need and in the official language of your choice.

1. Introduction to Compensation

The purpose of this course is to introduce you to the various stakeholders, legislative Acts and terminology that you will need to know for your position within Compensation. This course will provide you with the foundational knowledge to prepare you for subsequent training.

2. Introduction to Benefits and Entitlements

This course provides the foundational knowledge and skills needed to navigate collective agreements and directives on terms and conditions of employment and identify critical information within them. It also introduces the various types of entitlements, deductions and benefits to which persons employed in the Public Service may be entitled.

3. Pay Processes and Systems

The purpose of this course is to introduce you to the primary pay processing factors such as components in a pay calendar, timely and accurate data entry, and the systems used in DND Compensation. This course will provide you with the foundational knowledge to prepare you for subsequent training.

You can access these courses through your Defence Learning Network (accessible only on the National Defence network) account either through the DWAN or on a personal device by searching by title. The course completion will automatically be added to your HRMS training summary.
