Check out DND’s new Overtime toolkit for employees and managers

DND’s new Overtime toolkit (accessible only on the National Defence network) provides public service employees, civilian and military managers with comprehensive instructions and information about claiming, submitting and approving overtime. Be sure to check out these new tools and resources that will simplify this process for you!

Overtime refers to compensation for authorized work performed in excess of the employee’s standard daily and weekly scheduled hours of work, usual days of rest, or designated paid holidays as described in the provisions within the employee’s relevant collective agreement or under the other terms and conditions of employment. As overtime hours must be authorized prior to working them, employees will need approval from their section 34 manager before working in excess of their scheduled hours of work.
