CAF Members: Access to CSPS and new Workplace Harassment and Violence Prevention Training

CAF Members: As announced in CANFORGEN 075/21 CMP 041/21 261300Z MAY 21 (accessible only on the National Defence network), you now have access to learning products and services offered through the Canada School of Public Service (CSPS) where you are able to complete the mandatory Workplace Harassment and Violence Prevention involving Public Service Employees Training. As CAF members work and interact with Defence Team public service employees, it is important that all Defence Team members complete this training to gain a full understanding of their rights and responsibilities in the workplace.

As a CAF member, this training will help you better understand how you can help prevent harassment and violence and create a safe and respectful work environment for everyone. It explains your rights and responsibilities under the new workplace harassment and violence prevention regulations and how you can ensure all Defence Team members are treated with dignity and respect.

CSPS is creating accounts for all CAF members, and will notify you by email once your account is created. If your email is not registered in monitor mass, CSPS will work to enable registration via service number. If you have any questions about registering, please contact CAF.RegistrationRequiredTraining@forces.gc.ca.

Once your account has been setup, you are invited to complete the new training on the prevention of harassment and violence in the workplace, available through GC Campus. This training is mandatory for all Defence Team members and must be completed at the earliest opportunity but no later than December 31, 2021.

All Defence Team members

Harassment and Violence Prevention for Employees (W101)

This course covers:

• recognizing harassment and violence at work
• reporting and addressing harassment and violence, including family violence
• understanding the key elements of a work place harassment and violence prevention policy
• clarifying the resolution process
• reviewing the supportive measures available to employees

Supervisors and Managers

Harassment and Violence Prevention for Managers and Committees/Representatives (W102)

This course requires completion of W101 as a prerequisite and covers:

• clarifying roles and responsibilities
• outlining the steps of a work place assessment
• reviewing the limitations of the employer and the applicable partner
• understanding the elements of the investigation report
• recordkeeping and reporting
