Friday update: It’s painful discovering we’re not all that we think we are. Events in London and Kamloops are generating deep reflection of who we are vs. who we want and need to be. Lean into that self-reflection.
Discomfort and reflection help us grow: as individuals, as an institution, and as a country. But we’re all different, so our reflections will happen differently. The key is that we’re moving forward, on the path of positive change.
Collaboration makes for better progress. Frank discussions this week with our union colleagues at UMCC around #PSES results and the work ahead on diversity, equity and inclusion. Early, meaningful consultations with our union colleagues is key.
As we reflect on ourselves, we also need to stay vigilant about the tools we use in everyday work. Another Leave code update: (This has been confusing, for which I’m sorry.) Leave code 698 (Medical and Dental Appointments) is *now activated* in HRMS. Use it for routine dental and medical appointments, including COVID-19 vaccination appointments.
