Tips to Take Care of Your Mental Health in a time of physical distancing

__
Fortify your mental health
Follow these simple steps to protect yourself, your family, and your Defence Team colleagues.
__
Check your sources
Get information from reliable sources, such as the new DND/CAF COVID-19 page on Canada.ca
__
Stay informed but follow news coverage in moderation
Take breaks from watching, reading, or listening to news stories, and surfing social media.
It can be upsetting to repeatedly hear about the crisis.
__
Take care of your body
Try to eat healthy, exercise regularly, and get plenty of sleep.
__
Maintain healthy relationships
Consider alternative ways to communicate and stay in touch.
Such as video calling, texting, or a good old-fashioned telephone call.
__
Talk to family or friends about your feelings
Show support and empathy to those dealing with difficult situations.
__
Identify what is within your control
Direct your energy towards doing what you can to stop the spread of the virus.
Like washing your hands, and practicing physical distancing.
__
Cut yourself some slack
As we adjust to physical distancing and working from home, remember that this is a unique situation.
We’re all in this together.
