Cdr Riviere: There's nothing like the North in many ways. First of all, you come here to operate, but you live here. The communities of the North are so welcoming and so chill, and so great to live and work with.
This is the most sizable regional joint task force there is in terms of footprint. Our North, Strong and Free (ONSAF) is the renewed vision for Defence to put our own country - and that includes its Arctic and its approaches - in a place of security and in a place where we can support security and that we can support defence of Canadians and Canada's interest in the North.
We're going to have Northern Operational Support Hubs to augment our sustainment logistics capability and projection. This is awesome because again, this is half the country and we can't be everywhere at once. You need military mobility and sustainment and this is one aspect that ONSAF will bring moving forward.
