(JG) Hi, I’m Sailor First Class Julia Garlock, I’m a Port Inspection Diver, here at Fleet Dive Unit (Atlantic) and this is the 60-second challenge, so….

"What sort of exercises did you take part of under Op NANOOK-NUNALIVUT?"
So I was a part of the dive team.”

"What is your favourite thing to do in the Northwest Territories?"
My favourite thing to do was ride along in the sleds that we got.

"How did our process differ from our other allies?"
It was pretty much the same, but I think both teams were able to learn a lot from each other.

"How did you have to adapt to diving in this conditions compared to a dive in Halifax?”
We had to warm up our gear a lot more, but once you’re in the water Halifax is really cold too, so it wasn’t that much different.

"Who can handle the cold better, the Canadians or the French?"
Definitely the Canadians!

"Why is Op NANOOK-NUNALIVUT important?"
To show that we can dive in any conditions, especially the arctic, if we’re called to.

"What did you learn on this operation?"
I learned that minus 30 and minus 50 feel pretty much the same, it’s just cold.

"What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned since joining the CAF?"
Always be better, of course.

"What was the coolest part of Op NANOOK-NUNALIVUT?"
The coolest part was being able to see the Northern Lights, that was my first time.
