(M) You're okay.

(NS) Hi, I'm 2Lt Nicole Strickland. I just graduated RMC and I'm posted at 434 Squadron at the Maritime Helicopter Test and Evaluation Flight in Shearwater and I'm here to do the 60 Seconds challenge. Let's go.

“How do you think your achievements at RMC prepared you for a career in the CAF?”

The four pillars at RMC: athletics, academics, military and bilingualism, give good, well-rounded officer foundation, and now I get to build on that in my career.

“What is the biggest lesson you've learned while studying at RMC?”

That you will never be successful if you only look out for yourself.

“Name something people may be surprised to learn about you.”

The summer after the second year at RMC, I was diagnosed with a cancer called leukemia. I took a year off, did stem cell transplant, and then finish my degree afterwards. I also memorized 500 digits of pi in high school in a competition with my friends. Yeah.

“Describe yourself in three words.”

Positive, energetic and determined.

“What always puts a smile on your face?”

My sister's laugh.

“What song do you currently have on repeat?”

Whatever It Takes by Imagine Dragons, or any song by Imagine Dragons.

“What does leadership mean to you?”

Leadership to me is leading by example and genuinely caring for your team.

“Describe your experience at RMC in three words.”

Challenging, rewarding and comradery.

“Why RMC?”

I was intriguied to apply because my father had a great time when he went there and I wanted to join the military after high school and it was the logical choice. Yeah!
