Strategic Environmental and Economic Assessment: Department of National Defence
Find public statements issued by the Department of National Defence (DND) under the Cabinet Directive on Strategic Environmental and Economic Assessment (SEEA) and the former Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) process.
About strategic environmental and economic assessments
Under the Cabinet Directive on SEEA, departments must assess proposals to Cabinet when they may have important environmental or economic impacts.
The Cabinet Directive focuses on minimizing harms and maximizing benefits for the environment and the economy. It replaces the former SEA directive.
When public statements are published
When a proposal requires a detailed SEEA analysis and is announced or implemented, departments must publish a public statement summarizing the environmental and economic effects that were considered.
