MOSID 00109 - Aerospace Telecommunications and Information Systems Technician (ATIS TECH)

General Duties:

ATIS Technicians perform preventive and corrective maintenance, conduct inspections, repair and overhaul, and perform systems engineering on:

  • airfield,
  • weather,
  • navigational and long range radar systems,
  • navigation aids,
  • communications systems, and
  • computer systems including antennae and ancillaries.

Duties are performed in operations centres, workshops, mobile vans, or in the open, exposed to all climatic conditions. Employment involves both sedentary and active duties in urban and tactical field environments, sometimes in cramped and confined spaces. Extensive effort is required to handle bulky and heavy equipment.
