Tax Treaty Negotiations with Australia

Negotiations are underway to update the Canada-Australia Tax Convention, signed in 1980 and amended by a Protocol signed in 2002.

The purpose of this notice is to ensure that persons whose interests are affected have an opportunity to inform the government of any particular issues that might be taken into account during the ongoing negotiations. The government is particularly interested in learning of any difficulties encountered by Canadians under the tax system of Australia.
