Entry into force of the tax information exchange agreement between Canada and the Netherlands in respect of the Netherlands Antilles

The Agreement between the Government of Canada and the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in respect of the Netherlands Antilles on Exchange of Information on Tax Matters entered into force on January 1, 2011. The Agreement was signed on August 29, 2009. The Agreement has effect in accordance with the provisions of paragraph 2 of Article 13 of the Agreement.

The Netherlands Antilles formally ceased to exist as of October 10, 2010. The Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands has confirmed the application of the Agreement, under international law, to Curaçao, Sint Maarten and the Caribbean part of the Netherlands (the islands of Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba).
