Psychology internships

CSC offers one-year accredited clinical psychology internships in the Ontario Region.

Two positions are available: one in Kingston, Ontario, and one in Kitchener, Ontario. They subscribe to a practitioner/scholar model. They:

• focus on the development of a range of generalist skills and abilities applicable in a wide range of clinical settings
• prepare students to meet competency requirements for a practice in correctional/forensic psychology

The Canadian Psychological Association currently accredits this program until 2026-27.

CSC Psychology Internship is also a member of:

• Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC)
• Canadian Council of Professional Psychology Programs (CCPPP)

Applicants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada.

The internships are only open to students in doctoral programs in clinical and counseling psychology accredited by:

• Canadian Psychological Association
• American Psychological Association, or
• equivalent association

The program code number is 1858.

CSC is the federal government agency responsible for administering sentences of two or more years. There are more than 50 psychology positions in the Ontario Region. Psychologists provide clinical, counseling and correctional/forensic services to men and women offenders. They help both incarcerated offenders and those released (on parole) to the community.
