Sweet class action

Victim statements allow you to express how an offender’s crime has impacted your life. These statements can include relevant information about the offender along with any safety concerns you may have. Information in a victim statement is considered throughout an offender’s sentence.

A victim representative is a person chosen by a victim to receive information about the offender on their behalf.

If a victim believes that their rights under the Canadian Victim Bill of Rights have been infringed, violated or denied, they can make a complaint. Victims also have the right to make a complaint if they believe that their rights have not been respected.

Restorative Opportunities (RO) is a Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) program that offers people who have been harmed by a crime a chance to communicate with the offender who caused the harm.

Regional victim advisory committees (RVAC) are made up of victims of crime (volunteers), representatives of victim advocacy organizations and Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) and Parole Board of Canada employees.
