Saskatchewan Penitentiary

Saskatchewan Penitentiary is located 1 kilometre west of the City of Prince Albert, which is approximately 140 kilometres north east of Saskatoon and the Regional Psychiatric Centre.

The Saskatchewan Penitentiary has been operating since May 15, 1911. Riverbend Institution, a minimum-security site where offenders maintained institutional farmland, was constructed in 1962. This facility was clustered with Saskatchewan Penitentiary in 2014. Saskatchewan Penitentiary has 5 structures designated as Heritage buildings by the Federal Heritage Buildings Review Office.
