Why the policies were changed
The Commissioner’s Directive and the Guidelines were updated to better capture modern-day program requirements and reflect changes to the Canada Labour Code and the Canada Occupational Health and Safety Regulations.
What changed
The Work Place Harassment and Violence Prevention, Persons Granted Access to the Workplace, and Occupational Health Evaluation Standard sections, as well as their corresponding procedures, were added to the Guidelines.
Additional changes were made throughout the Guidelines to clarify the responsibilities and procedures. The information and guidance originally contained within the appendices will be posted and managed as individual Hub pages.
How they were developed
These policies were developed by Corporate Labour Relations, Occupational Health and Safety Program, with internal and external partners and stakeholders.
Who is affected by the policies
The Commissioner’s Directive applies to employees and contractors, while Guidelines apply to all employees.
