Why was the policy changed?

To provide clarification on the purchase of hobby craft articles, pending the full scheduled review of CD 760 – Social Programs and Leisure Activities.

What has changed?

Hobby craft articles produced by inmates may be sold to the public, which includes CSC employees and contractors. However, hobby craft articles may not be sold directly or indirectly to other inmates, pursuant to CD 566-12 – Personal Property of Offenders.

This amendment will be incorporated in the Sale of Articles section once the review of the CD is completed.

How was it developed?

The Correctional Operations and Programs Sector revised this policy in consultation with the Strategic Policy Division.

Who will be affected by the policy?

All staff involved in social programs, leisure activities, hobby craft, and special events.
