Why was the policy changed?
The policy has been modified in relation to the Board of Investigation’s recommendations in order to provide broader response options and strategies through a person-centered integrated approach to managing everyday operations and incidents.
What has changed?
The title of the CD has changed from “Management of Security Incidents” to “Management of Incidents”.
A newly designed Engagement and Intervention Model has been added to replace the former Situation Management Model.
A risk-based, person-centered assessment and response process has been introduced.
Added emphasis is put on the importance of regular and consistent engagement through dynamic security.
The engagement and intervention strategies for security and health have been redefined.
Some editorial modifications were made throughout the document to provide added clarification.
How was it developed?
A committee with representatives from the Security and Learning and Development Branches, the Health Services Sector and regional and institutional representatives collaborated in the development of this policy, with support from Strategic Policy. Full consultations with internal and external stakeholders were held.

Every staff member that is involved in the management of incidents.
