95% of the work is done outdoors. Weather conditions vary.
Workload is divided as follows:
- 50%: customer service (answering questions and providing information)
- 30%: provide informal interpretation (explaining various monuments and important sites in the capital, such as the National War Memorial and Parliament Hill)
- 10%: guided tours (presenting to groups of visitors from all over the world)
- 10%: participation in special events (Canada Day and Changing of the Guard ceremonies)
Eligibility criteria
To be eligible, you must meet the following criteria:
- college or university-level student
- Canadian citizen
- fluent in French and English
- meet the Federal Student Work Experience Program (FSWEP) eligibility criteria

Salary: $20.16 per hour
