Canada Arts Training Fund

The Canada Arts Training Fund (CATF) supports arts training in Canada and contributes to the development of future artists and cultural leaders.

The CATF provides financial support for the ongoing operations of Canadian arts organizations that specialize in training artists for professional national or international artistic careers, at the highest levels.

Priorities:

  • Funding priorities are Indigenous and equity arts training.

Who can apply

New for 2026-2027 applications: Application is limited to existing recipients of the Canada Arts Training Fund, as the program is presently over-subscribed. This approach will be re-evaluated for 2027-2028 applications.

To be eligible for funding, the applicant must:

  • have received funding from the Canada Arts Training Fund in 2025-2026.
  • be a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the arts or an equivalent Indigenous organization.

Organizations

Eligible activities

Activities must be directly related to professional training in the arts offered by a recognized program.

Indigenous Organizations

Eligible activities

Activities must be directly related to preparing First Nations, Inuit or Métis participants for careers in the arts.

Equity Organizations

Eligible activities

Activities must be directly related to professional arts training offered to equity group participants that prepare them for a career in the arts.

Application deadline

The application intake period will take place from April 22, 2026 at 8:00 a.m. (ET) to May 15, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. (ET).
