Great Lakes Fountain

This fountain is one of two Canadian-themed artworks located on the terraces of the Garden of the Provinces and Territories in downtown Ottawa.

Great Lakes Fountain was created for the Garden in 1962 by Ottawa landscape architect, Emil G. van der Meulen. The fountain comprises five shallow concrete basins representing the Great Lakes. The floral emblems of the provinces and territories are inset in the stone balustrades nearby.
