Remember Flanders
Remember Flanders was erected in honour of John McCrae, a Canadian poet, gunner and physician. The Lieutenant-Colonel during the First World War is also the author of the famous poem, In Flanders Fields.
This sculpture of John McCrae was unveiled in May, 2015 by the Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery —100 years after John McCrae wrote and published “In Flanders Fields” in 1915.
The bronze sculpture was created by Ontario artist Ruth Abernethy.
