Project: Demonstration of Effective Best Management Practices to Reduce the Transfer of Phosphorus to the Lake Simcoe Drainage Area

Project Description: This project will target the implementation of combined buffer strips and cover crops to reduce phosphorus loads to Lake Simcoe. In collaboration with local agricultural producers and other partners, the project will promote sustainable farming practices and the use of technology to develop and implement new approaches to reduce phosphorus runoff effectively.
Project: One Size Does Not Fit All Places or Times: An Approach to Future Proofing and Location Tailoring Beneficial Management Practices (BMPs) in the Lake Simcoe Watershed

Project Description: This project will reduce phosphorus loads to Lake Simcoe through the development of an assessment framework that prioritizes agricultural best management practices in specific locations throughout the basin and improves our understanding of their effectiveness under climate change.
Project: Nature-Based Solutions to Support Phosphorus Reductions to Lake Simcoe

Project Description: This project will demonstrate and evaluate the use of best management practices to reduce phosphorus runoff from urban and agricultural non-point sources in the Lake Simcoe watershed. The project will assess the effectiveness of these approaches and broadly engage community members through demonstration events and outreach.
