Essential qualifications
Language requirements

Bilingual imperative (CBC/CBC)
Education
- College/university diploma in a relevant field (e.g. Interactive Multimedia & Design, Graphic Design) or an acceptable combination of education, training, and experience in the electronic publishing industry.
OR
- A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.
Experience
-
Significant experience leading the design, development, production and publication of complex communications products for internal and external audiences across multiple media.
-
Significant experience providing strategic creative advice and recommendations to management, clients and stakeholders on visual direction, branding, graphic design, publishing, accessibility and/or digital communications.
-
Significant experience planning, coordinating and monitoring multiple concurrent design or publishing projects, including setting priorities, assigning or distributing work, managing workload and deadlines, and overseeing quality control.

Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud or comparable professional design and publishing software to conceptualize and produce high-quality visual communications products.
-
Experience applying relevant Government of Canada or comparable standards, policies and guidance related to communications, web publishing, accessibility, usability, corporate identity and/or branding.

Experience leading, supervising, mentoring or providing technical direction to graphic design, publishing or other creative professionals.

Experience establishing and maintaining productive working relationships with multidisciplinary partners, stakeholders and clients.

Experience researching, evaluating and implementing new tools, technologies, standards, processes or approaches in graphic design and publishing.
