The world economy is more interconnected than ever, which is presenting small and medium-sized Atlantic Canadian businesses new opportunities and challenges as they expand into international markets. The Atlantic Provinces Economic Council released two publications to help the region's businesses and governments better engage with the global economy: the brochure Succeeding Globally for small and medium-sized businesses; and a more in-depth report Taking on the World.
The brochure Succeeding Globally – The Importance of Global Value Chains for Small and Medium-Sized Businesses in Atlantic Canada introduces the region's firms to the benefits of global value chains. It highlights successful global business strategies used by Atlantic Canadian firms, includes helpful case studies and provides other information that can help companies develop their international markets.
The report Taking on the World – Atlantic Canada’s Role In Global Value Chains offers more in-depth research on Atlantic Canadian firms' role in global value chains and includes additional corporate profiles. It provides analysts and policy makers with an understanding of how Atlantic firms are participating in global value chains in order to help inform their international commerce strategies and programs.
