When We Train
September to June:

Full-time summer employment is available from May to August.

The Fort Garry Horse is an Armoured Calvary Regiment in Canada’s Army Reserves. From its home at Strachan Armoury in Winnipeg, the soldiers train as drivers, observers, gunners, and commanders of Army vehicles, allowing us to integrate into any Armoured Fighting Vehicle platform in the Canadian Army.
The Fort Garry Horse has deployed personnel across Canada in domestic operations fighting fires and floods, but have also deployed internationally to serve in places like Afghanistan, Latvia, Lebanon, Kuwait, and Egypt.
When you join our unit, you will receive competitive pay for your part time or full time work as well as be eligible for on the job training that could benefit you in civilian life. Also, there are medical, dental and educational benefits available to Army Reservists.
